Last day of the leagues
The last day of the leagues will take place in Coláiste Éanna on Sunday 12th May. Heidenfeld, O'Hanlon and BEA South games will be at 10am with prizegiving straight after. Armstrong, Ennis and BEA North will be at 3:30pm, also with prizegiving to follow. As agreed at the last LCU AGM, all games will be at the usual time controls (ie including 30 second increments), and teams are not required to be declared in advance, though teams should bring a teamsheet on the day.

Naomh Barróg - new club night
Note that Naomh Barróg's remaining home games in the BEA North will take place on Tuesday, not Thursday as currently scheduled.

Unregistered players - points deductions
It's the time of year when penalties are applied for players not registered with the ICU. Per Rule 6.2, the penalty is that a team loses all points for a match where any of their players was unregistered. These have now been applied, and will be returned as players' ICU registrations are renewed. Note points won't be returned immediately a player is registered - the site takes an updated registration list from the ICU every couple of weeks and updates from that. If you have any queries over which players are unregistered on a given team, let us know.

New players and FIDE ratings
The ICU have asked us to advise that players in the top four divisions with no ICU number (ie who have never registered with the ICU before) create issues with FIDE rating of the leagues - without an ICU number, a player can't be linked to an existing FIDE profile or have a new one created. We have been asked to ensure any clubs in the top four divisions who use such players advise of their ICU number as soon as possible - ideally well in advance of the month-end, when games go in for FIDE ratings. Given this issue can delay FIDE rating of leagues, and at the request of the ICU, we will be enforcing penalties for breach of this rule (also covered under Rule 6.2) more strictly than usual. Note the usual penalties for unregistered players (under Rule 6.2) will be applied in January. These will be returned as the ICU confirm players' registrations.

Mick Germaine Cup

Bodley promotion
To confirm there will be five teams promoted from the Bodley this season - the three section winners, and two of the section runners-up based on a play-off. Promotion/relegation will otherwise operate as per normal - though in the event that extra entrants next year warrant the return of the O'Sullivan (Div 7), then some teams will be relegated from the Bodley to reduce it to two sections and ensure a minimum of two sections in the O'Sullivan.

A reminder for teams in the Bodley North that both Navan and Naomh Barróg have withdrawn; all their scores are being marked up as 5-0 walkovers.
